沖縄戦は日本国内で唯一の地上戦であり、現在も沖縄の街中に戦時中に出来た銃痕が残っている。
本作品は沖縄戦で出来たそれらの銃痕を写真に撮り、写真上の銃痕部分に米軍から放出された銃弾の薬莢を溶かして流し込んでいます。
それは傷を癒すと同時に金継ぎのように傷跡を目立たせることで記憶を継承するための実践です。

The Battle of Okinawa was the only ground war in Japan, and gunshot wounds from the war still remain in the streets of Okinawa.
In this artwork, I took photographs of those bullet scars made during the Battle of Okinawa and melted and poured bullet casings released by the U.S. military into the bullet scar areas on the photographs.
This is a practice to heal the wounds caused by the war and at the same time to pass on the memory by making the scars stand out like a metal joint.
